All-you-can-eat meals are so pre-recession. In times like these, when the economy sucks Chevrolets through a straw and the future looks as bright as the bottom of an inkwell at midnight, what we really need are all-you-can-drink meals.

Enter Mercadito Midtown. Every Saturday and Sunday during its weekend brunch, the sexy Mex eatery lets you slosh your troubles away with unlimited Tippling Bros. cocktails to go along with its classic southern Mexican fare.

If the shitty state of the nation hasn't taken your appetite away, you can chow down on chilaquiles verdes (crisp corn tortilla topped with tomatillo sauce, cotija cheese, and crema), huevos ahogados (poached eggs and cornbread smothered in chipotle hollandaise sauce), and estrellados y tampiqueña (sunny-side-up eggs with rosemary-marinated skirt steak and potato-rajas-cactus fundido).

Cost for the all-you-can-guzzle weekend brunch, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., is $30 per person. Chance to get hammered on really good booze and forget about what happened the rest of the week: priceless.
