Miami Beach is getting a new place for serious seafood when Lure Fishbar docks at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel.
The restaurant is set to open in the former Emeril's space in the fall of 2013.
This is the second Lure Fishbar to open. The New York City flagship garners consistent high marks for its creative seafood dishes in a yacht-like setting. Lure Fishbar NYC rated a spot on Forbes' 2010 list of All-Star Eateries alongside restaurants like Prune, Morimoto, Babbo, and David Burke Townhouse.
Though Miami's menu isn't finalized, expect to see an ocean's worth of
fresh seafood with most entrees mid-priced, as well as raw shellfish and
sushi. Confirmed carnivores might want to note that Lure's burger won
the People's Choice award at the New York Wine & Food festival's 2009 Burger Bash.
The restaurant is a partnership between Lure's Josh Pickard, John McDonald
and executive chef Josh Capon and hotelier Jonathan Tisch, chairman and
CEO of Loews Hotels. Chef Capon will act as executive chef of the Miami
Lure when it opens.
Lure partner John McDonald feels Miami Beach is the perfect spot to expand his brand. "We've been considering expanding Lure to Miami for many years and finally
found the ideal venue and partner in Loews and Jon Tisch." McDonald also noted that the Art Deco aspects of the St. Mortiz building which will house the restaurant, fits well with the restaurant's concept and design.
