Bento boxes are the snack pack of Japan. These meals, served in compartmentalized boxes, are usually comprised of rice, fish, and meat, and can be as simple or elaborate as a restaurant or stay-at-home-mom wants to make them.

Juvia, the new penthouse retreat with a retractable roof adjacent to the parking garage at 1111 Lincoln Road, just announced its lunch service, featuring quick-service Bento boxes served weekdays from noon to 3 p.m.

Power brokers and harried Lincoln Road shoppers can have a quickie bento meal, guaranteed to not take up the entire day.

For $24, diners can choose from tuna poke with sesame schimi tosazu,

hijiki, red onion, and scallions); chicken Vadouvan with French curry,

cipollini onions, porchini, and baby

spinach; or Korean marinated short rib as their protein.

All bentos are served with Jasmine rice, a salad, and a cupcake and

served on a tray. Presented with their entire meal at one time, diners

can choose to linger with a glass or two of wine, or scarf down lunch in

order to enjoy more valuable beach time.

For patrons seeking to linger on the oversize deck, Juvia also offers a traditional lunch menu that lists many of the restaurant's dinner items. They include stone crabs; cured Scottish salmon with feta and baby arugula; hamachi espuma with micro cilantro; salmon nashi; and beef carpaccio. Traditional lunch is served seven days a week from noon to 3 p.m.
