We're not sure if this holiday was originally meant to celebrate cheap rubber footwear or politicians who waver on the issues, but National Flip Flop Day is Friday June 17, and you get to celebrate with a free smoothie!

Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Broward and Dade is offering a free 24-oz. Jetty Punch Smoothie (that's strawberry/banana flavor, by the way) to the first 500 customers to walk into any of their five Miami-Dade locations wearing flip flops (so we guess you can leave the lying politicians home) on June 17.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is also raising funds to help more than 200 Dade and Broward families go to Camp Sunshine in Maine, a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses. Tropical Smoothie Cafes will sell paper flip flops for $1 and flip flop keychains for $5. All proceeds from these sales will go to the Camp Sunshine fund. Tropical Smoothies hopes to raise $450,000 from this campaign.

Break out your flip flops, schedule a pedicure, and get your smoothies at one of these locations:
