To celebrate Burger Month, Joe's Take Away, the casual "to-go" sibling of Joe's Stone Crab, is partnering with food truck Latin Burger and Taco for one day only.
Today from 11 a.m to 9 p.m., Latin Burger is taking over Joe's Take Away kitchen, where the food truck chefs will prepare their double patty Latin Macho burgers complete with onions, special sauce and Oaxaca cheese. The burger ($10.95), which comes with an order of fries, will be available for take-out or dine-in service.
According to Latin Burger & Taco's owner Jim Heins, he and Joe's
Stone Crab owner Stephen Sawitz thought a collaboration would be a great
way to celebrate burger month. Heins said he was asked to
"audition" the burgers by making them for Joe's staff last week.
Joe's
Take Away's regular menu will be available in addition to the
burgers. This is also the last few days to get your fill of stone crabs
before the season ends. Joe's Take Away and Joe's Stone Crab both close for the
season on May 20, with Joe's Stone Crab reopening on May 30 for dinner
only through August 5.
