Adorned with graffiti art, the brewery blends into the artistic community, featuring other similarly painted buildings.

Brewer and owner Johnathan Wakefield broke records with a funding campaign using Crowdbrewed, a crowd-funding website for beer startups, raising more than $112,000. The goal of $55,000 was broken in a little more than 24 hours.

Wakefield attracted attention in the brewing industry with his fruited Berliner Weisse beers, particularly his dragonfruit-passionfruit "Florida Weisse," also known as "DFPF." Wakefield recently completed a collaboration with Greg Koch from Stone Brewing at his brewery in San Diego.

Aside from industry recognition, Wakefield has garnered a cult following for his Florida Weisses. His DFPF Florida Weisse, which was rated as a Cigar City pilot beer, received high ratings on ratebeer.com, a website for consumer-rated beers.

Wakefield also collaborated with Cigar City Brewing in Tampa several times, brewing a Cerveza Fresca line of beers.

Wakefield will take receipt of the brewing equipment, including a 15-barrel brewing system, April 14.

"It is that much closer, people," Wakefield said on Facebook.
