Iron Fork and the official kick-off for Miami Spice, presented by the Downtown Development Authority, is this evening at the Adrienne Arsht Center and it promises to be the event of the summer.
There's something for everyone at Iron Fork.
Love food? Of course you do, which is why you're going to flip over 45 of Miami's best restaurants serving up their tastiest treats for you to sample -- many of them Miami Spice participants, so you can try several restaurants in one evening before making your dinner reservations for the rest of the summer.
Love music? Live musical performances by Juke, Aaron Lebos Reality, and Steve Acho will keep you entertained, sure. But what's totally amazing are the live mini-shows by the cast of Norwegian Cruise Line's production of Legally Blonde: The Musical, who will perform several times during the evening. Yup..Elle, Kyle the UPS guy, and Bruiser the wonder Chihuahua will all be there. You should be, too.
Love a good fight? The Iron Fork chef's battle pits Tongue & Cheek's Jamie DeRosa against Eating House's Giorgio Rapicavoli in a fight to the bitter end. The two chefs have already started a Twitter war with each other. This time they won't have their iPhones to hide behind. With only their talent and a pantry of food, these chefs will have to create a meal on stage using a "mystery ingredient" and their skills. This is going to be good.
And finally...
Love Instagram? We know that you're going to be on your smart phone the entire night, sharing awesome photos of the food and entertainment, so we figured you might as well be rewarded for it. When you Instagram your pictures, remember to use hashtag #IronFork and tag @miaminewtimes. We'll choose our favorite pictures and post them on Short Order Friday morning. Plus, the Instagrammer who posts our favorite picture will win a $50 gift card to Chef Adrianne's Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar.
Just remember a few rules: your Instagram account must be public, and you must tag us @miaminewtimes and hashtag #IronFork. Photos posted after 11:59 p.m. on August 1, 2013 are no longer eligible for the prize.
If you don't have tickets, a limited number of general admission tickets are available at the door for $55, and a very limited number of VIP tickets available for $90.
