Egg & Dart, the upscale Greek Taverna in Midtown, is now open for lunch. The restaurant, which serves rustic cuisine in a Miami-chic setting, is having an impromptu one-day-only sale on their first midday meal service -- half off.
Yup. Today only, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., any food item on the lunch menu is 50 percent. We're talking some deals here on the menu, which offers already reasonable prices.
Take, for example, the octopus springrolls, which are normally $7 (now $3.50), or the Spanakopita, a homemade spinach pie from a family recipe ($9, today $4.50). Grilled octopus ($15, today $7.50), and chicken kebab ($12, today $6) are good for hearty appetites.
We asked co-owner Costa Grillas why the half-priced offer and why such short notice? He said that it really was a last-minute idea. "It's our first lunch meal. We're still working on it, so I wanted to offer a half-priced menu today. Sort of a like a friends and family - but open to our neighbors".
Costa added, "We want to open our doors, bring people in and show them what we've got." Since there's no such thing as a free lunch, we'll take half priced.
