The summer's biggest gastronomic gathering is less than a month away. Miami New Times' Iron Fork and the Miami Spice Kick Off will take place on August 1 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. Guests of the culinary soiree will watch chefs Jamie DeRosa of Tongue & Cheek and Giorgio Rapicavoli of Eating House battle it out for the title of the 2013 Iron Fork Champion.
Only one of them will win, but ticket holders snag the real prize. In addition to the competition, over 45 of Miami's hottest restaurants will be present to serve select dishes as part of the Miami Spice kickoff.

Perhaps the best news about the additions is that they too will be participating in this year's Miami Spice. If your primary place of residence is located beneath a large stone of some kind, allow us to enlighten: Miami Spice is a two-month event where restaurants all over Miami offer prix-fixe menus featuring the restaurant's best chops (so to speak). Lunch prices will be either $19 or $23, while dinners will be $33 or $39.
So while DeRosa and Rapicavoli will have to duke it out throwing punches and frying pans, all you have to do is watch, eat, and drink. Sounds like they got the short end of the stick, and you get to reap in the riches.
Tickets cost $40 until July 31 for GA and $75 for VIP. VIP ticket holders get to take part in the action an hour before GA is admitted inside and enjoy wine, beer, and Bacardi cocktails. You can buy your tickets here: microapp.miaminewtimes.com/ironfork/2013.
