Miami is one expensive city. It's easy to drop a Benjamin for a dinner in this town if you're not careful. But we still need to get our food and drink on. That's what Happy Hours are made for and Doraku on Lincoln Road has not one, but two of the most fantastic Happy Hours we've ever seen (all available seven days a week).

The Lunch Happy Hour, available Monday thru Friday from noon to 3:30 p.m. and weekends from 1:30 to 3 pm, lets you have lunch al fresco on Lincoln Road for under ten bucks. Deals include edamame for $2, a spicy crunchy salmon roll for $4, veggie tempura for $4 and a roll/sashimi combo for a mind-boggling $6.Go back to work slightly buzzed with $3 draft beers or hot/cool sake.

The Dinner Happy Hour, however, is Doraku's tour de force. Offered daily from 5 to 7 pm, this is one of the most rockin' happy hours on the beach, so make sure you get here early for a prime spot at the bar or a table (YES! You can order from the happy hour menu at a table!). Note: If there are no seats left at the bar, the bartenders won't serve food to people standing.

This is one extensive happy hour menu, but highlights include tuna/avocado or crunchy crab rolls for $4, California rolls for $3, wok seared edamame for $3, and seared eggplant for $3.

Crowd favorites (as in everyone orders them) are tempura battered rock shrimp ($5), tuna tataki ($6) and Ahi Poke ($6).

If you think the food deals are good, wait until you hear about the drinks. Three bucks gets you your choice of hot/cold sake, draft beer or house wine. Four bucks buys you a lychee martini, sangria, margarita or a well drink.

We took a twenty dollar bill out to Doraku for happy hour last week, where we enjoyed a lychee martini, a Kirin on draft, rock shrimp, a crunchy crab roll and still had money left over for a tip. That's impressive.
