Concrete Beach Brewery opened its doors to the media for a sneak preview last week, although its will not be open to the public for at least another month.

But in the meantime, beer from the Wynwood brewery is already being sold in shops around Miami. How is this possible? The answer is simple: because Concrete Beach is a part of Boston Brewing Company (technically) and because the parent organization's vast resources, the product is made in a larger facility in Cincinnati, according to a spokesperson for the brewery.

In fact, Concrete Beach has been available in stores for over a week now. David Lockshin, co-owner of Biscayne Home Brew store, already has the beer in stock and is selling it for $1.68 per bottle. Two varieties are now available year-round: Stiltsville pilsner and Rica wheat India pale ale.

"Anybody who can get it will carry it," Lockshin said.

Gold Coast Beverage Distributors already has a distribution contract with Boston Brewing, so Concrete Beach can be found at any location that sells Samuel Adams beer. Officially, the beer will not be released until October 1. Some of the county's biggest retailers -- Total Wine and More, Publix, and Winn-Dixie -- will be carrying the new brew in six packs.

Only two beer styles are available as of now, but Rica and Stiltsville are just a preview. And there will be much more than what is distributed. Thanks to the utility of tap rooms, breweries can experiment with limited-release batches.

Bars and clubs are not carrying the beer, at least not yet. That will happen later this year.

But when Concrete Beach finally opens, it will be the third brewery in the Wynwood Arts District and the third within a span of one mile. The 11,000-square foot building houses a 20-barrel brewing system and an indoor/outdoor social hall for public gatherings.

Concrete Beach is the brainchild of Alan Newman, founder of Magic Hat Brewing Company. Alchemy and Science, the subsidiary of Boston Brewing, is on a roll. The company acquired and revamped Angel City Brewery in Los Angeles in 2012 and, most recently, the Coney Island Brewing Company.
