Some of us like to stay home on Christmas Day and enjoy a home cooked meal, maybe some hot chocolate or eggnog, and some chestnuts roas.....wait, for a second there I forgot that we live in the most glamorous city in the country. We have a rep to protect.

So, if you are going to be a good Miamian this Christmas, you will probably want to hit a trendy, high end restaurant for your Christmas dinner. Fortunately for you, there are several restaurants more than willing to oblige. This ain't Kansas, Dorothy.

Eat
The Christmas day prix-fixe menu at Scarpetta offers four appetizers: raw yellowtail, mozzarella in carrozza, braised beef short ribs, and creamy polenta. You have two choices of pasta, spaghetti and agnolotti, and two choices of entrée, Alaskan Halibut or a 21-day aged sirloin. Coconut panna cotta, amedei chocolate cake, and a pistachio mousse round out your Christmas meal. Dinner: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. $75/adults & $30/kids.

For Christmas Eve and Christmas day, Gotham Steak will be offering special "surprise" holiday items, as well as regular menu items such as the veal porterhouse ($48) and the Texas-style Berkshire pork ribs ($27). Dinner: 6 p.m. until 12 a.m.

A special holiday dim sum menu will be available for lunch and dinner at Hakkasan. Regular menu items will also be available. Dinner: 5 p.m. until 12 a.m.

Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill is featuring its holiday menu on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Sugarcane is offering a pheasant appetizer ($14), your choice of grass fed beef tenderloin ($34) or suckling pig porchetta ($24) for entrée, and of course--figgy pudding for dessert ($9). The regular menu will also be available, but who can turn down figgy pudding? Food Service: 12 p.m. until 12 a.m.

Even though Ryan from Norman's 180 promised he was emailing us the holiday menu, he apparently forgot and stopped taking our calls (I'm totally taking him off my Christmas list). But...he did say that the restaurant will be open and serving a holiday dinner menu.

Drink
If you're stuck having dinner at someone else's home and completely dreading the green bean casserole and baked ham, get sloshed before arriving at the cruel, cruel person's dinner party. Stop by La Cote, sip on drinks while watching the amazing ocean and listening to phat beats being dropped by the DJ. You'll have plenty of time to listen to little Rebecca playing "Jingle Bells" on the recorder later.

Merry Christmas to all!
