In 2008, Bourbon Steak, located on the ground lobby of the Turnberry Isle Hotel & Resort in Aventura served greater Miami the finest upscale steakhouse its seen in ages.

In 2011, it was named one of Miami's top five steakhouses by New Times.

We've told you about their jerk chicken, fried chicken, and killer burgers. And the steaks? Well, those bad boys speak for themselves.

But this year, protein's left to the side as CNN posted Travel + Leisure's Best French Fries in the U.S.. Bourbon made the list.

Way to go, Miami.

The list, part of an ongoing co-op series called "100 Places to Eat Like a Local," put Bourbon's killer trio of fries at 6 out of 7. Though it's unclear whether the 7 are ranked or not, the other winners included The Breslin Bar & Dining Room in New York City, Boise Fry Company in Idaho, The Original Hot Dog Shop in Pittsburgh, Duckfat in Portland, Maine, Jasper's Corner Tap in San Francisco, Pike Street Fish Fry in Seattle, The Green Room in Greenville, South Carolina, Jonesy's EatBar in Denver, and Thrasher's in Ocean City, Maryland.

Enough about the others, though. Here's what they had to say about our little gem:

Celebrity chef Michael Mina's dinner-only restaurant offers up generous cuts of beef that are both organic and hormone-free -- and its fries get the same attention to quality and detail. Mid-thick cuts of potato get dunked in duck fat to provide both their rich flavor and crispness, and an order covers three seasoning and sauce combos: rosemary herb accompanied by a side of spicy ketchup; onion-dusted with sour cream sauce; and smoked paprika with smoked barbecue sauce.
