Not-so-happy Monday. The weekend came and went too fast -- another year, another Mercedes-Benz Fashion Swim Week in the books.
If you missed the action, don't feel so bad. You got to skip out on deadly traffic, nightmarish parking, and walking through puddles with shoes in hand -- what some people will do for models in swimsuits and free drinks. Luckily, there's plenty going on this week to make up for the weekend, and it starts with ice cream.

Monday
Icebox Cafe Makes Ice Cream
We know, cheat day is over, but it's worth breaking for Icebox Cafe. The Sunset Harbour and Oprah favorite recently added homemade ice cream to its lauded dessert menu. Flavors include mango saffron, Guinness mocha, toasted coconut, carrot ginger, and Madagascar vanilla and cost only $3. What better way to celebrate 30 years of National Ice Cream Month (yes, it's been going on that long) than with superpremium ice cream made with all-natural ingredients? We know -- get some pie and combine the two. Boom.
Tuesday
Fill the Grill at Whole Foods North Miami
Aaron Brooks (Edge Steak & Bar), Giorgio Rapicavoli (Eating House, Taperia Raca), and Todd Erickson (Huahua's, Haven) will shaire their secrets with culinary students from Johnson & Wales University this Tuesday during Fill the Grill at Whole Foods North Miami. Each team will have $20 and 20 minutes to shop for ingredients, followed by another 20 minutes to prepare a refreshing summer dish on the grill. The winning duo will receive a gift card ($500 per student and $200 per chef) to Whole Foods. The free event begins at 6:30 p.m. and gives you a chance to catch Erickson and Brooks in action prior to their Iron Fork competition at the end of the month.

Dinner and a Movie at SushiSamba
SushiSamba Coral Gables' new monthly series, Samba and a Movie, is exactly what you think it is. For just $35, you get a three-course meal at SushiSamba and a screening at Coral Gables Art Cinema. The inaugural event will showcase one of the best Brazilian films of the year, A Wolf at the Door, and a fusion of Brazilian, Japanese, and Peruvian eats such as grilled robata salmon, sea bass bolinhos, and mochi. Choose either the 6:45 or 8:45 p.m. screening.
Wednesday
Champagne and Oysters at Toscana Divino
Brickell's favorite Tuscan eatery, Toscana Divino, is bringing its interactive summer winetasting series back with a bang after taking a break for the World Cup. A special champagne and oyster tasting this Wednesday will allow you to enjoy some of the best bubbly -- Billecart-Salmon, La Grande Dame, and Laurent-Perrier Rosé -- with fresh oysters. The region-themed winetastings usually cost just $30, but considering all the cava you'll be drinking, the price for the oyster extravaganza is $80. Shucking begins at 6 p.m.
Thursday
Spice, Spice, Baby
Iron Fork and Miami Spice are around the corner, and Todd Erickson is keeping busy. He's participating in the second Miami Spice Mash-Up Series, along with Clayton Miller, culinary director of 50 Eggs. Taking place at Swine, the five-course meal will be a sneak peek at the Miami Spice offerings of both chefs. Though we don't know what they'll serve, we do know it will be Southern comfort food. Dinner begins at 8 p.m. and costs $65 per person, which includes a Botran rum old-fashioned and Stella Artois. The catch: There are limited seats. Go, go, go.
Wines With Chip
Who says drinking can't be an educational experience? Not FIU professor Patrick "Chip" Cassidy. The PhD will host Wines With Chip, a history of wine, beer, and liquor paired with a special tasting of selected red and white wines. The event begins at 7 p.m. at FIU's Jewish Museum of Florida in South Beach near Tongue & Cheek, which will serve cheesy treats to pair with the wine.
National Tequila Day at Bulla
Any holiday that celebrates tequila is fine by us. The Coral Gables happy-hour favorite is adding a Spanish margarita to the mix for the day for only $6. It contains Cazadores Reposado, Grand Marnier, amontillado sherry, lime juice, and agave nectar.
