5 Napkin Grill and 5 Napkin Express, the grab-and-go component of the restaurant, are both closed.
The restaurant, which has three locations in New York City and one in Boston, opened on Lincoln Road in South Beach in 2011 and proved to be a welcome addition to what was then a pedestrian mall filled with unique shops, cafés, and restaurants.

5 Napkin Burger later changed its name to 5 Napkin Grill to reflect an expanded menu. The restaurant then opened 5 Napkin Express in February 2014. The little shop around the corner served portable burgers and shakes, perfect for taking to the beach two blocks away or eating at the New World Symphony's Sound Garden, just around the corner.
A week and a half ago, the restaurant had a kitchen fire and tweeted about it. However, the restaurant remains closed and a recording states, "We are currently closed for renovation. Please check back with us for grand reopening information."
We have messages in to the company's headquarters and will update this post with any further information.
@GreggHolland We are temporarily closed due to a kitchen fire this morning. Hope to reopen shortly!
