Exciting news for numismatists and people in general who didn't get kind of bored with the "50 States Quarters" after a few months: The United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters™ Program has been announced, and our very own Everglades National Park will be honored with a shiny 25-cent piece in late 2014 (assuming we still have a national currency then). But what should be forever engraved on the coin? We all know the Everglades lacks a visual tradmark -- unless you just love the site of miles and miles of swamp grass -- so here are some suggestions.
Ah, the Florida panther. So adorable and already featured on one of our more popular vanity license plates. I'd feel too bad spending them, though, and donate all of those quarters to panther protection programs.
