Thieves in Miami will steal just about anything. Even pigeons.

The Miami-Dade Police Department is asking the public's help in identifying three men who broke into a farm in Kendale Lakes in March and stole 150 pigeons. Though, the birds were returned to the owner a few days later, three of the birds died during the caper and police have still not caught the criminals.

The incident took place on March 3 at 4595 SW 127 Ave. The men jumped over a chain link fence and then pried open two doors to get to the pigeons. The farm was equipped with surveillance cameras and the men were caught on film. Police are hoping that the men can be identified. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.

Pigeon breeding is popular in Miami-Dade suburbs, especially amongst Cuban Americans. The birds are used in competitions like raising, and prized birds can sell for thousands of dollars.
