An intense scene broke out last night at Northwest 62nd Street and 19th Avenue near Liberty City as a SWAT team was called in to negotiate with ten armed suspects who had barricaded themselves in a house. Two young children were also involved in the incident.

At around 11:20 last night, Miami police were called to investigate reports of gunfire in the area. They arrived and found several armed people outside of the house. At least one suspect may have had a high-powered rifle.

The suspects ran into a nearby house and barricaded themselves inside. A SWAT team was brought in, and the stand off lasted for nearly five hours.

SWAT negotiators were eventually able to convince the suspects to allow the two young children -- a three-year-old and a three-month-old -- out of the house with an adult.

After the children were safe, police bombarded the home with tear gas. Ten suspects were taken into custody without injuries.

Further details, including the names of those arrested, have not been released.
