Typhoon Haiyan has killed thousands and left millions homeless in the Philippines. There's a way to help. Miami's Filipino community asks you to contribute. Here are some South Florida events.

There'll be a Thanksgiving Day service at noon at the NANAY Community Center, 659 NE 125th St. Call 305 981-3232 for information.

On December 1, there'll be a 5K run at 7:30 a.m. at JC Bermudez Park, 3000 NW 87th Ave., Doral.

Leave food or donations at the Relief Goods Donation Drop-Off Center in Miami. Call Nena Forte for details at 305-496-8953.

In Palm Beach, there are the following:

Couples Showcase of Filipino-American Talents at the Old Wellington Mall on December 8. Call 561 317-2157 for details.

The Philippine American Federation of South Florida and the Philippine Charities Foundation are taking contributions by mail. Send checks to the Philppiine Charitiies Foundation Inc., 10131 Forest Hill Blvd., Suite 100A, Wellington.

Adopt a Box Fundraising in West Palm is asking for $1 for relief good. And you can drop off donations at 1 Express Remit Center, 3951 Haverhill Rd., Suite #206, West Palm Beach.
