A man and a woman traveling in a black Nissan Maxima were pulled over early this morning in Opa-Locka near 140th Street and Northwest 26th Avenue. Instead of complying with the officer, though, they tried to run him over with the car. The incident lead to a police chase that involved gun fire.

According to WSVN, after the pair tried to run over the officer, they then sped off. The officer, uninjured, got back in his cruiser and followed them.

"The officers followed the subjects here into Miami Gardens where the suspects bailed out," Opa-Locka Police Sergeant Michael Steel told the station. "A perimeter was set up."

When the couple exited the car in Miami Gardens and began fleeing on foot, police opened fire. It's not clear if either suspect was armed or attempted to fire at police officers.

The pair was eventually caught on foot, and no one was injured.
