Williams was in town for her Live Ultimate Run, which raises money for her charity the Serena Williams Foundation. Williams began the race at the starting line with the other competitors, but then less than halfway into the race Williams was caught hailing a cab. Proving, we guess, that not everyone in Miami uses Uber just yet.

Despite nearly racking up a grand slam this year, Williams has been plagued by multiple injuries throughout the season. She eventually had to pull out of competition back in October to recover."It's no secret I've played injured most of the year — whether it was my elbow, my knee, or, in the final moments after a certain match in Flushing, my heart," Williams said at the time of her injuries.
She vowed recently that she would soon return to the court, but having to take a cab to complete a relatively short run has some wondering if she has indeed fully recovered. She is scheduled to begin play in early January in preparation to defend her title at the Australian Open later that month.
To her credit, Williams didn't try and hide the fact she didn't really finish her own race. In a Facebook video she admitted, "I didn't run the whole way this year, but next year I will."

Her sister Venus Williams was on hand and was one of the around 3,000 participants who did complete the trek that finished on Ocean Drive. The Serena Williams Foundation supports communities that have been affected by violence and promotes equal access to education.
