Seantrel Henderson Reportedly Leaning Toward Ditching Trojans for Hurricanes

The recruiting saga of offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson, one of the highest-rated players of the class of 2010, is still staggering along five months after national signing day. That means only bad news for the sanction-hit USC Trojans, where Henderson had signed a letter of intent, and could be shaping up to be good news for the University of Miami Hurricanes. Even if it means we'd probably have to wait a year before Henderson was eligible.

The five-star-rated offensive tackle out of Minnesota was reportedly interested in Miami, USC, and Ohio State. On signing day, there was some indication he was strongly thinking about donning the Orange and Green before verbally committing to the Trojans. That commitment came with a caveat, though, because Henderson said he'd wait to sign his letter of intent until he got a better feel of the sanctions that were looming over Southern California.

Henderson ended up signing the letter before the sanctions were handed down, but now that they have (and, boy, were they rough), he's apparently rethinking his commitment.

When he didn't show up for orientation at USC it, we thought Henderson could still very well end up at Miami. Lane Kiffin and company were so startled by the absence they hopped on a jet to talk to Henderson. That visit hasn't sped up his decision any, it appears.

Now his hometown paper, the St. Paul Pioneer Press, says that might be the case.

Latest word is that Cretin-Derham Hall grad Seantrel Henderson, who was assured by new Southern California football coach Lane Kiffin during recruitment that USC would not receive serious NCAA penalties, is balking at his commitment and now leaning toward Miami, even though he would have to sit out a transfer season.
