Sarah Palin doesn't have a lot to do now but sit by her Facebook machine all day and have some assistant type out notes on whatever topic will get the most "pokes" or "likes" or whatever. So of course she's weighed in on the Focus on the Family-sponsored Tim Tebow anti-abortion Super Bowl ad controversy.

The National Organization of Women's opposition to the ad didn't sit right with the Pitbull in Lipstick:

What a ridiculous situation they're getting themselves into now with their protest of CBS airing a pro-life ad during the upcoming Super Bowl game. The ad will feature Heisman trophy winner Tim Tebow and his mom, and they'll speak to the sanctity of life and the beautiful potential within every innocent child as Mrs. Tebow acknowledges her choice to give Tim life, despite less than ideal circumstances. Messages like this empower women! This speaks to the strength and commitment and nurturing spirit within women. The message says everything positive and nothing negative about the power of women - and life. Evidently, some women's rights groups like NOW do not like that message.
Alright then.

Then she ends with a special note to Tim, "To the Tebows: thank you. America is listening. We appreciate you."

Maybe she can set up a date between Tim and Bristol. She's not a virgin like Tim, but she's, uh, re-waiting for marriage.

Meanwhile, the American Life League, the same group that cried foul when Krispy Kreme gave away treats on Inauguration Day, calling them "abortion doughnuts," is also in Timmy's corner.

They sent out an email today claiming the ad "celebrates beauty and dignity of the human person."

"Between meaningless and often crude ads for cars, beer and cell phones, football fans this year will see and hear an example of true courage, love and human dignity.

Focus on the Family has broken through a media blackout that has censored pro-life messages under the phoney excuse they are "political" for years. We pray that through the Tebow family, the 94 million estimated Superbowl watchers will open their hearts to the beauty and dignity of the human person and "Celebrate Life."
From what we can tell about the ad, Tebow won't be calling for an end to Roe v. Wade or marching in front of the capitol with bloodied, dismembered baby dolls, but rather just sending a message that bringing a child to the world is a noble thing.

It's a measured and reasonable way to weight in on the debate. More in line with a respectable "change heart, not laws," school of thought. We just wish Tebow wasn't directly or indirectly aligning himself with such decisive groups. Focus on the Family also has some pretty wicked anti-gay stances and a history of sending out sensational, irresponsible political rhetoric. Sarah Palin is, well, Sarah Palin. And the American Life League coined the term "abortion doughnuts."
