Sunday's game between the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets won't feature replacement refs, but it will feature replacement flags. Instead of tossing out yellow flags, refs will be using pink flags.

The idea was not the brainchild of a fan of post-punk band Wire, but rather that of an 11-year-old boy who wanted to raise awareness about breast cancer.

In recent seasons during the month of October, NFL players have been sporting all sorts of pink additions to their uniforms to raise awareness about breast cancer, but 11-year-old Dante Cano wanted to take it a step further. So he penned a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and for once the guy actually listened to a fan.

Here's Cano's letter:

So adorable.

"Dante had a great idea and I am looking forward to meeting with him on Sunday to put it into action," said Goodell. "Sometimes the simplest ideas can be the best. I applaud Dante for sending in his recommendation."<

The Dolphins-Jets game will be the only matchup to feature the pink penalty flags. Hopefully, though, that will be enough to make all of the people who are not yet aware of breast cancer totally aware of breast cancer.
