Miami City Commissioner Marc Sarnoff sure knows how to alienate people. We've made our case before why this guy should get recalled. The man is unfit for public office. He is absolutely clueless when it comes to dealing with the poor and the disenfranchised.

On February 18, Sarnoff provided more reason to see him run out of Miami. He appeared on Helen Ferre's TV show Issues on WPBT2 to defend the police-related shootings that have claimed the lives of seven African American males, as well as voice his support for Miami Police Chief Miguel Exposito.

During his chat session with Ferre, Sarnoff implies that cops are justified in shooting unarmed suspects who have a past criminal record involving gun charges.

"What is happening is there is an assumption made by many police officers when these folks are being pulled over in certain places at certain times that they are armed," Sarnoff rationalized. "It takes a lot of courage at four o'clock in the morning to pull over a car and you don't know who is in it, or maybe you do know who is in it, and that person has a rap sheet with 37 arrests in it and you see there are guns on 30 of those arrests you almost create the expectation."

Sarnoff also noted he is a firm believer in the second amendment to bear arms, informing the host that he owns more than ten guns. Seriously. The city commissioner representing Miami's wealthiest district with the least amount of violent crime is packing heat to arm a small commando unit. Considering he believes paranoid cops have a license to shoot suspects without provocation, we hope those guns are under lock and key and that he lost the key.
