Miami-Dade police officers shot and killed four suspects Thursday while investigating criminal activity near the Redland. Officers had been called to a home near Southwest 216th Street and 189th Avenue when they were confronted by four men in ski masks armed with firearms. Very little information seems to be available at the moment.
According to The Miami Herald, the incident occurred yesterday at around 9 p.m. Neighbors told the paper they heard gun fire just before 9, and then heard fire from a semi-automatic riffle again about 20 minutes later.
"The subjects did arrive, they wearing ski masks, armed with firearms," Miami-Dade Police PIO Zabaleta told WSVN. "There was a confrontation with the Special Response Team, shots were fired resulting in four individuals deceased on scene."
All four men were killed on the scene, and no one was transported to a hospital.
No police were injured during the incident, and the department claims that all four men have violent criminal records. The department has not released the specifics of the crime they had been called to investigate.
