Swag: What is it? Where did it come from? Who invented it? How do you know if you have or not? These are some of the greatest mysteries of our brave new YOLO era.
Well, LeBron James has answered at least one of these questions. He claims professional wrestling Ric Flair is the forefather of the swaggy movement.
See, while Dwyane Wade was busy kicking people in the nuts last night during the Miami-Charlotte game, Flair sat in the audience. He lives in Charlotte and is a local legend. Like the Hornet before them, Bobcats fans have adopted Flair's "Woooo!" calling as their own.
After the game, Flair paid a visit to the Heat's locker room, and James was in awe.
From The Sun-Sentinel:
"I mean, when I was a kid, I loved wrestling," James said. "He was one of the guys I loved, too.You got that? Ric Flair created swag!
"I think he's probably one of the creators of what we call swag these days, with the Rolexes and the stretch limos, and all the girls and all that stuff.
"He's like the creator of swag, Ric Flair definitely kept me watching TV."
Liberace style bathrobes? SWAG!
Feathered man hair? SWAG!
Whatever is going on here? SWAG!
Red manikini? SWAG!
Pink feathers? SWAG!
As Miami sports fan, though, we have a duty to tell you that LeBron's theory is patently false, as everyone knows THE U INVENTED SWAGGER.
