Kelly Rowland and Jennifer Hudson were not holding a seminar on how to climb out of Beyoncé Knowles's shadow. While visiting Rowland's Miami Beach home, they were filming a segment for the British edition of Simon Cowell's X Factor, on which Rowland is now a judge. But the shoot was reportedly delayed when a group of pranksters on Jet Skis caused a commotion and forced Miami Beach cops to intervene.
Rowland is a judge and mentor to a group of eight female singing hopefuls on the show. She had taken them to her Miami Beach home to whittle the group down to four singers. Hudson had joined her for the task, but the Sun reports the Jet Skiers repeatedly intervened.
"The rowdy joyriders brought filming to a standstill on both days as they revved and zigzagged back and forth by her waterside mansion," the Sun reports. "The noise from the roaring motors drowned everyone out, and Kelly, 30, battled to deliver her verdicts to the anxious wannabes."
"This guy was doing it on purpose. He kept waving and we had to call the police, and eventually he left," the program's host, Dermot O'Leary, told the paper. "The cops are like Miami Vice, and they sorted it out. We did have to stop filming for a while, though."
Kelly's latest single, "Motivation," has climbed higher on many charts than any of the singles from Beyoncé's latest album, and Hudson walked away with an Oscar for her role in Dream Girls, while Bey was left with only a Golden Globe nomination. Has anyone checked to make sure these disruptive Jet Skiers were not secret agents sent by Knowles?
