Stringer has eluded the authorities for now

Attention citizens of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Be on the lookout for Thomas Barrett Stringer, a 42-year-old con artist with a fox-like ability to elude capture from Johnny Law. Stringer is wanted by the Coral Gables Police Department for identity theft and fraudulent use of credit cards. On November 2, he was spotted riding around in a black 2006 Saab SUV, Florida tag U173XU, that he purchased with a stolen cashier’s check, according to Coral Gables Sgt. Dan Mosquera. The detective says Stringer was able to ditch their pursuit before back-up could arrive.

“He is responsible for hundreds of thousands of dollars in fraudulent activity,” Mosquera says. Stringer has a long history of stealing people’s identities, writing fraudulent checks and committing grand theft. In fact, he’s the guy who allegedly stole my name and used it to rent himself a fancy ride from Enterprise Rent-A-Car in South Carolina last year. If you see this chump or have information on his whereabouts, contact Mosquera at 305-460-5446. -- Francisco Alvarado
