In the wake of this morning's devastating terrorist attack in Paris, where masked gunmen stormed the offices of satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo and killed 12 people, spontaneous rallies have broken out from the Place de la Republique near the site of the attack to London, New York, and Berlin. The message has been simple: Je suis Charlie. I am Charlie.

Miami also showed its support for La Republique and for free speech. More than 200 gathered on Lincoln Road this evening, many chanting in French and passing around "Je suis Charlie" placards.

The crowd gathered at Lincoln Road and Washington Avenue and then made its way slowly through the bustling tourist crowds of the pedestrian mall. Many locals and international visitors joined in along the way.

The rally is just one of thousands around the globe, all starting with the jaw-dropping display in eastern Paris:

And elsewhere around the globe. Back in France, a manhunt continues for the three gunmen who carried out what President François Hollande calls a "cowardly murder" of staffers at the satirical newspaper, as well as one police officer.
