In fact, the linebacker's college football career isn't over either. Today he'll enroll at Garden City Community College in Kansas and join the football team, and Figueroa decided to make a big statement about his change of team by posting a video of himself burning his Hurricanes jersey.

He deleted the video a few hours later and quickly did the same with both his Instagram and Twitter accounts. Of course, nothing ever really disappears from the internet, and copies of the video are still circulating.
Figueroa had been expected to start for the Hurricanes this past season before his dismissal and ban from campus. The university did not pussyfoot around in its response to the arrest, and UM President Donna Shalala even reached out directly to the victim.
"The safety and welfare of our students is fundamental to our mission as a university. We have zero tolerance for sexual assault and gender-based violence," she said in a statement at the time. "There is no confusion about our responsibility as a university: We will fully and compassionately support the victim of sexual assault. I have spoken to her myself and reassured her of our full support."
Despite that, Figueroa will get a second chance at Garden City under head coach Jeff Sims, a former Florida Atlantic University assistant and recruiting coordinator. Reached by the Palm Beach Post, Sims said he had not seen the video but planned to discuss it with his new player.
