Taking a trek to elsewhere in the state for Thanksgiving? Sounds unfortunate, but at least you can look forward to one perk if you take the Florida Turnpike. The road's 24 -hour service stations will be offering everyone free coffee during specific hours during the busy travel time.

The offer starts at 11 p.m. tonight until 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning. Free coffee will return on 11 p.m. on Sunday night until 6 a.m. the following morning.

The coffee will be available at the restaurants and gas stations at the road's eight service station.

Officials want to make sure that everyone traveling late at night is awake and well aware of their surroundings.

They also warn to expect heavy traffic over the weekend and have specifically singles out the area around Fort Drum Service Plaza near Fort Pierce as a particularly clustered area.
