Eighty-three-year-old Marian Hill is recovering in the hospital after her grandson, 23-year-old Kenneth Smith, Jr., accidentally shot her in the leg yesterday.

The incident happened after Smith argued with his brother, Robert Hill, 28, over his cell phone and decided to pull out a gun in the family residence.

According to WSVN, the incident happened just after 2 p.m. on the 22000 block of Southwest 117th Place. The two brothers were in the yard arguing over the cell phone when the confrontation got physical. The fight continued inside and Smith Jr. pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at his brother.

Instead, one of the bullets struck Marion Hill's leg.

"I saw my mother lying on the floor bleeding," Lisa Hill, the victim's daughter, told WSVN. "That really hurt."

"I'm about to go out of my mind; I'm trying to get to the hospital with my mom ...It's messed up."

The elder Hill is at Kendall Regional Medical Center recovering in stable condition.

Smith Jr. was charged with battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on an elderly person, and aggravated assault with a firearm.
