The MacArthur Causeway has been the site of more strange deaths than any bridge really should, and now police are trying to unravel the mystery of a body that was found in a patch of bushes along the causeway this afternoon. Update.

According to the Miami Herald, workers were trimming trees between Watson and Palm islands when they uncovered the body of a black man. It was discovered in bushes on the westbound side of the causeway.

Apparently the body had been there for less than a day.

An exit ramp from the causeway, which connects Miami to Miami Beach, was the scene of the gruesome "Miami Zombie" attack, but the road has been host to deaths that were the result of everything from hit-and-runs, police-involved shootings, and car crashes.

Riptide will update with more information as it becomes available.

Update: The Miami Herald reports that the man was likely the victim of a hit-and-run accident and was in his mid-40s. Miami Beach police believe the man was likely homeless and are hoping that the accident was caught on surveillance cameras.
