Coral Gables cop Eric Plescow was arrested yesterday after he allegedly tried to strangle his girlfriend. This is not the first time the 26-year-old police officers has found himself on the wrong side of the law in his relatively short career. He also once caused a three car accident on I-75, but was let off with minimal punishment.

According to WSVN, Plescow was arrested early Saturday morning at his Palmetto Bay home and allegedly strangled his girlfriend. Her condition is not yet known.

Plescow was charged with three counts of battery and was booked into jail at 7:22 a.m. yesterday. He has since bailed out on $4,500 bond.

This isn't the officer's first brush with the other side of the law. According to the Sun-Sentinel, back in 2010 Plescow was traveling 96 mph on I-75 in Sunrise. He lost control of his car and veered into another lane which caused a three car accident.

He pleaded no contest, and was let off with just a $130 fine.

Plescow had only joined the force in 2009.
