Charlie Crist is rumored to make a big announcement concerning his campaign for Senate this Thursday, and while no one has 100 percent confirmed it, it's anticipated that he'll declare his intentions to run as an independent. That announcement will likely be made in his home town of St. Petersburg.

But the Orlando Sentinel reports that he's expected to come to Fisher Island this weekend, where his wife Carole Rome has a home, to hold the official kick-off rally. We don't know if kick-off rally translates into fundraiser, but considering Fisher Island is one of the wealthiest zip codes in the entire state, it makes sense.
