Your mother is the person who is supposed to believe in you no matter what -- the woman who says you can be anything you want to be. Of course, Barbara Bush has never been a woman who's afraid to tell it like she sees it, and on Today this morning, she said she doesn't think Jeb Bush should run for president.
"I think it's a great country. There are a lot of great families, and it's not just four families or whatever," she said this morning while on the Today show to promote her eldest son George W.'s new presidential library. "There are other people out there that are very qualified, and we've had enough Bushes."
Of course, she did add that she'd think her son could do it if he wanted to, but she just doesn't think he will.
"He's the most qualified, but I don't think he'll run," the Bush matriarch added. "There are other families. He'll get all our enemies, half of our friends."
Talk about telling it like it is.
Laura Bush was a bit more diplomatic.
"Sure, he'd be terrific; he'd be a wonderful president," said Jeb's sister-in-law. "But who knows? We don't know, and we're just letting him decide."
This all just makes us imagine Barbara as the real-life Lucille Bluth.
