Thanks to the Heat, Amar'e Stoudemire won't be playing much basketball for the next few months. So what will he do with his free time? Apparently, he'll continue his college education. The Knicks center and Florida native was taking classes at Florida International University during the lockout, but announced on Twitter yesterday that he just enrolled at the University of Miami.
"Just enrolled at the University of Miami. Working on continuing my education," he tweeted along with this picture.
Stoudemire committed to the University of Memphis out of high school but opted for the NBA draft instead. He has vowed to get his degree.
"I'm back at school at FIU, studying history and science," the Lake Wales native told Page Six last October.
Apparently, he's decided to move his education a bit east.
Stoudemire lives in South Florida during the off-season, and there is a bit of a silver lining for him that he didn't beat the Heat in the playoffs. Knocking out the Big Three might have made him the most unpopular man on campus.
