To outsiders, the marriage of 72-year-old Maciej Nowicki and 27-year-old Brygida Scheffler probably seemed like a real-life fairy tale -- the kind of relationship where the pair could talk or not talk forever and still find things not to talk about. But when Nowicki accused Scheffler of cheating, the Polish trophy bride stabbed him with a knife and threatened to have him killed if he called the police.
According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Scheffler is originally form Poland and works as a waitress at the nearby Deltona Inn in Deltona, Florida.
Nowicki recently discovered that Scheffler had been cheating on him with another man for about a year, and he confronted her about it Saturday around 10:18 a.m.
As the two argued, Scheffler grabbed a six-inch kitchen knife and lunged at her elderly husband. He raised his left arm to fend off the attack and was stabbed in the forearm. The knife left a 3/4-inch puncture wound. Nowicki eventually grabbed a golf club to defend himself but did not hit Scheffler.
Scheffler allegedly threatened that if Nowicki called police, she would have her friends from the hotel bar come over and "do him in."
Nowicki called police anyway. Deputies arrives to find him bleeding profusely. Blood and a small chunk of flesh were found on the knife.
Scheffler was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a person older than 65, though she told the News-Journal that the accusations are false.
