Whether you're dropping mad bills on contemporary art at such-and-such satellite festival or stalking celebrity art collectors at the Miami Beach Convention Center, there's one thing about Basel week that everyone can agree on: It's all about the afterparty.

Case in point: The Electric Pickle. Next week, the N. Miami Avenue club will be hosting some of the best Basel music the city has to offer, kicking shit off on Thursday, December 1, with Portland electropoppers YACHT.

In 2009, the duo -- Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans -- stepped into the indie music spotlight with its fourth album, Sea Mystery Lights. The record did exceptionally well in terms of blog buzz, earning an 8.5 rating on Pitchfork while Rolling Stone gave it three-and-a-half stars.

Sea Mystery Lights appeared on nearly every hipster blogger's best of '09 list -- not to mention the Critic's Choice list at the New York Times. The group's 2011 follow-up Shangri-La, however, has received mixed reviews.

While the LA Times loved it, NME loathed Shangri-La, calling the album as "hippy-disco good vibes" music. We got the same vibe. But we thought the album rocked.

Whether you loved Shangri-La or not, though, you'll love Yacht's live set -- just like we did in 2009.
