For a few years there, Made Event's Sunday School made up a
big slice of the underground house and techno pie during WMC week, especially with
heavyweights like Richie Hawtin, Luciano and Seth Troxler aboard their whopping
36-hour marathon lineup.
But alas, Sunday School is no more. The party went
kaput after 2011, with Made focusing their efforts on the Electric Zoo Festival
in New York.
However, WMC marathoners need not worry about the action
dying prematurely before Sunday, March 25th, because Liaison Artists, Embrace,
SAFE and Beatsme have teamed up to fill the gap on Sunday with Last Resort, a
lineup more than worthy of Sunday School.
The choice of venue, Villa 221 in downtown Miami, is a major
selling point in itself with its multiple interior and exterior spaces, cozy enough
for that underground intimacy partygoers seek. Then of course there are the
headliners -- more than a dozen stars of the international scene confirmed so
far, veterans and newbs alike.
On the cutting-edge techno tip are the likes of DJ-production
outfit and eponymous label Visionquest as well as Joris Voorn. Meanwhile, Maceo
Plex, Maya Jane Coles and Tim Green straddle both the dark and sexy aspects of
tech-house. But fun-loving boogie lovers will also be catered
to by Wolf + Lamb, Soul Clap and Footprintz, among others.
