According to Surfer Blood guitarist Thomas Fekete, his badass, major press-saturating Weird Wives outfit that was a virtual unknown before we wrote about them on Tuesday is covering the dreamy, two-minute fuzz anthem "So Gone" by Best Coast for a third 7-inch EP due in June.

In an e-mail to New Times Broward-Palm Beach, Fekete says that the other two tracks on the EP "sound entirely different," and the "So Gone" cover "is wild and our favorite songs yet." Also, to our inquiries regarding female member Allison Grabenhorst: "Allison played on 'Bulldozer Puppet Fucker' and is now an official member of the band." The lineup also includes vocalist Nick Klein, and Surfer Blood members bassist Brian Black and drummer/percussionist Marcos Marchesani.

Weird Wives plans to release a physical version of its third EP in late June, but an MP3 download will likely be available sooner. A short East Coast tour in New York is expected "immediately after."
