You've probably heard -- no, you have heard -- Katy Perry's inescapable new collaboration with Snoop Dogg, the catchy, Dr. Luke-created "California Gurls." And though Floridians can relate a lot to some of Perry's lyrics about sunny weather and girls in bikinis, we can't really call it our own personal summer anthem. Hey, we're not West Coasters.
Well now South Florida girls Carlie Craig and Jaz Zepatos have taken matters into their own hands and decided to represent South Florida with a parody called "South Florida Gurlz."
Craig, an 18-year-old FSU student that hails from Coral Springs, sounds strikingly like Perry as she talks about chongas, cultural diversity, and air boat rides in the Everglades on the chorus.
As you might imagine, Craig and her friend Zepatos don't have the budget to make a Candy Land dream world a la Katy Perry, but Perry's video for the real song really didn't make much sense anyway. Check out "South Florida Gurlz" after the jump, along with the Katy Perry original, and tell us: Which do you like better?
