UPDATE Ultra Music Festival 2013's General-Admission Passes on Sale! Right Effing Now! For $574.95!
Damn, where'd you find those Ultra tickets?
The Internets are on fire with happy, sad, and just plain confused partiers who may or may not have nabbed early-bird passes to the 15th anniversary edition of Ultra Music Festival.
Although the official UMF site advertised that tickets would be going on sale today, it turns out that some passes were let loose for "Ultra family" email subscribers on Tuesday. And they sold out in about a half-hour.
Who said it was too early for Ultra drama?

If you were not on the UMF mailing list, then you didn't get access to early-bird tickets. Unless you found the ticket link somewhere online.

Still, even if you were on the list, you might not have seen the email in your inbox before tix disappeared. A lot of would-be partiers are complaining about missing the heads-up in their spam folders.
But even those who successfully received their email in time have serious complaints.
"So, basically they sent this email. 'At 1 p.m. you can get all your tickets,'" said Ultra hopeful David Effraim, a 21-year-old student at University of Florida. "I sat at the Ultra website and ticketjunkie website refreshing for 45 minutes with them still not being on sale. I go to class and refresh at 2:25 p.m. or so and early birds were already sold out."
That's because the early bird tickets actually went on sale closer to 2 p.m.
According to Alexandra Greenberg, one of UMF's press representatives at the Mitch Schneider Organization, the Ultra team wanted to be sure everything was ready and in working order, so they needed "a smidge more time."
But a smidge can be a big difference to a fan left out in the cold.
"I sat there for 45 minutes refreshing for an early bird and it sold out," Effraim said. "It just bothered me too much, so I don't feel like getting one now. I'm probably going to just go to WMC events, and if anything, buy a one-day [ticket] or something off of someone."
But that doesn't mean everyone left empty-handed. The early-bird tickets did sell out quickly. So did advance tix for Ultra 2013 Weekends One and Two. All that's left for today's second round of sales are regular and VIP passes.
Greenberg couldn't be sure of the exact number of tickets remaining, but there's no doubt they'll be flying fast. And word on the street is both weekends will not be created equal.
According to my sources, the lineups for both weekends of Ultra will NOT be the same. There may be artists that play both, but no guarantees
