Memphis/South Florida glam-punk luminaries the Rock City Angels top the bill for a night of unbridled rock 'n' roll at Monterey Club (2608 S. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale). Show starts at 9:30 p.m.

In short, the band, fronted by Bobby Durango, has a history far too long and twisted to fit here. For those curious about how Johnny Depp used to be in the band, their inter-label competition with Guns 'N Roses, or Durango's assortment of colorful nicknames, spend a couple hours on their Wikipedia. Alternatively, you could just get off your gold-bricking ass and shake a leg. Angry Pudding and the Dirty Boxes are there also.

Also tonight, the esteemed DJ Mig Lauderdale and Miami rockers Rebel are up the road at 1921 (1921 S. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale). More about the show here, and Crossfade pal Courtney Hambright jots some more information about the "comfortably underground" venue over here.

Finally, Chicago at the Pompano Beach Amphitheatre. Lee Zimmerman breaks down the band's "horn-dominated sound and unabashed overtures to centrist audiences," but like in a totally good way.
