Tiësto. Unless you've lived under a soundproof rock since the mid '90s, you know that this Grammy-nominated Dutch beat maker is one of the biggest electro acts of the modern dance era.
He's been crowned world's best DJ a staggering three times consecutively. Dude's a light-eyed BPM pimp, the 40th greatest Dutch citizen of all time, and an all-around dance floor deity.
At 42-years old, he's six years older than Jesus was when he died, and he has far more disciples. If EDM were a religion, Tiësto would be its Messiah.
But electronic dance music is not a tax-exempt religious organizations. In fact, the only similarity between Catholicism and the electro scene is that it's gonna cost you a lot of money to get close to God.
For $300, you can celebrate life with Lord Tiësto -- Club Life, to be exact -- when the Dutch master rolls through LIV for a Thursday night performance on December 29. And joining Tiësto that night will be fellow countryman Nicky Romero, a 22-year-old DJ-producer who represents the bright future of dance music and about 15% of the ticket price.
At least it's cheaper's than Tiësto's $25,000 NYE last year, right?
Tiësto. Thursday, December 29. LIV, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach. The party starts at 11 p.m. and tickets cost $300 plus fees via wantickets.com. Call 305-674-4680 or visit livnightclub.com.
