When one club closes, another one opens. Well, at least that's the how it goes in Miami.
Wedged between clubs that have been bringing drunken shenanigans to NE 11th Street for years (including Space) is the strip's latest addition, Therapy Miami.
The new party spot will be launching tonight. And the timing couldn't be any better.
"[It's a] great time to launch the new club and showcase it to thousands and thousands of people," says Therapy manager Alex Tomasso. "We're opening [now] because of the lucky timing, if you wanna call it that," he laughs.

Although Therapy is new to the Magic City, it was a staple on the Providence, Rhode Island club scene for almost ten years. As Tomasso tells us, it was the only afterhours club in the state.
Obviously, afterhours clubs are not a new or innovative concept for the party animals of Dade County -- Miami has a slew of them to keep us going until the wee hours of the morning. Tomasso, however, saw it as a business prospect.
"The main reason [we decided to open in Downtown Miami] is the 24-hour liquor license."
And with a list of parties going down during the ten-day span of Miami Music Week, Therapy is using its license to the max.

Backyard Monsters WMC Showcase marks the club's first night of
business, but the official opening party is scheduled for mid April. "We have a superstar DJ, but I'm sworn to secrecy," Tomasso smirks.
"I believe in the music scene in Miami very strongly," he adds. "It's very vibrant and thriving. And we believe that we have something to great to offer the scene."
