There're only a handful of gin joints tough enough to survive prohibition, government raids, homeless squatters, and the crack epidemic. And Tobacco Road is one of them.

For 100 years, this charmingly grimy bar has served up cheap booze to all types of folks -- rich, poor, popular, gay, straight, corrupt, whatever -- at 626 S. Miami Avenue, the only home its ever known. Real estate investors, however, are threatening to shut the party down.

Like it is most Fridays, Tobacco Road is featured in this week's Ten Under $10 weekend guide. It's one of the few spots left in Miami that can always guarantee live music and hard drinks for a remarkably low price.

Let's hope some bullshit redevelopment doesn't change that.

Cultura Art and Music Festiva. Friday, May 11, 6 p.m., Tobacco Road, 626 S. Miami Ave., Miami. $5. It may be the beginning of the end, roughly 156 weeks before Tobacco Road's fate is determined. Take advantage of the music.

DWNTWN Miami Concert Series. With Chris Cauley. Friday, May 11, 8 p.m, The Olympia Theatre at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts, 174 E. Flagler St., Miami. Free. He may have not won on NBC's The Voice, but that doesn't mean this Adam Levine protégé doesn't have the chops to command an audience.

Queef, Sluggage, and The Faded Folk. Friday, May 11, 7:30 p.m., Sweat Records, 5505 NE Second Ave., Miami. Free. Local bands take over Sweat Records for an all-ages show.

Haochi Waves. Friday, May 11, 9 p.m., Churchill's Pub, 5501 NE Second Ave., Miami. $5. Haochi Waves is releasing an EP and they want y'all to celebrate with them. Show some love, Miami.

Luis Bofill. Friday, May 11, 10 p.m., PAX, 337 SW Eighth St., Miami. $10. Here's a Mother's Day gift idea. Take mom out for a nice dinner on Friday night at Molina's in Hialeah and then surprise her with un poco de "Nostalgia Habanera."

He's My Brother, She's My Sister. Friday, May 11, The Vagabond, 30 NE 14 St., Miami. Advanced tickets are $10. If you're a sucker for funny band names and folk music, you don't want to miss He's My Brother, She's My Sister.

Roofless Records Presents: Shitjazz vs. Jazz. Saturday, May 12, 9 p.m., Sweat Records, 5505 NE Second Ave., Miami. Free. What do you get when you pit America's classical against "motherfucking shitjazzery"? The "Eat Shit Extended Mix," duh.

Jacuzzi Boys and the Unusual Friends. Saturday, May 12 at 9 p.m., Churchill's Pub, 5501 NE Second Ave., Miami. $7. They're back from Europe and want y'all to come rage at Churchill's this weekend.

BEMBE feat. Carlos Mena. Saturday, May 12, 10 p.m., The Vagabond, 30 NE 14 St., Miami. Advanced tickets are $10. This is a journey into African rhythm and deep house music that'll blow your mind.

HIP Sundays. Sunday, May 13, 9 p.m., Chalk Lounge, 1234 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Free. Hospitality love to party and play ping-pong. Naturally, Chalk created HIP.
