Special Interpol Afterparty at Churchill's on August 21 with Interpol Drummer and The Holy Terrors

We'd lie if we said we weren't excited about Interpol's South Florida stop at the Fillmore on August 21. We haven't seen them stop here since 2007, and we've missed them. A lot.

Well, now there's more news for Interpol fans: Churchill's has just announced that there will be a special Interpol afterparty after the show, starring the Holy Terrors. The Hollywood, Florida-based punk band started to bring the noise in 1990, releasing two classic singles, as well as a six-song cassette recorded live. The band continues to play live, albeit infrequently, and the shows continue to shred.

Now, for those of you unfamiliar (or way too young to know), Interpol drummer Sam Fogarino got his major musical start as the Terrors' drummer. According to the band's site, in 1996 he "had grown tired of the nonstop fun and left the band to follow a series of girlfriends up and down the East Coast, eventually settling in New York City."

All four original members of the Holy Terrors will be performing

together for the first time in over 17 years, along with Tongues of the

Heartworm, Angry Pudding, Russell Mofsky's Gold Dust Lounge, and DJ

Skidmark. We're hoping that Fogarino's current bandmates will also be in

attendance, to cheer on their drummer, of course (and maybe give us an

amazing encore?).

Though the Holy Terrors have always classified themselves as punk rockers, we can't help but hear

Joy Division and early Interpol-ish undertones. And now we know why. Check

out their video for "Spirit" below, and tell us what you

think.

Holy Terrors, with Angry Pudding, Tongues of the Heartworm, and more to be announced; at Churchill's. $5 at the door, show starts at 9pm. 305-757-1807; churchillspub.com
