If you're onto Corporate America's scheme to fleece consumers out of their hard-earned dollars with the whole Valentine's Day scheme, good for you! Restaurants consistently have the worst service of the year on February 14, and the fact that it falls on a Saturday this year will only add to the stress. Don't be lame. You don't need to succumb to that. You're a Crossfade reader and you are in the know. Besides, you'll have better chances of getting some if you get your date drunk.

And what better place to do that than Transit Lounge?  Led by DJ Le Spam, the Spam Allstars will be performing live, delivering their trademark improvs blending funk, jazz, hip-hop, electro, Afro-Cuban, Latin jazz, and dub to get you and your honey shaking your asses into the wee hours.

The ensemble released a new album in late August of last year, Introducing Spam Allstars, a compilation of material from their three previous releases (Electrodomesticos, Contra Los Roboticos Mutantes, and Fuacata Live!). But for all the energy on their discs, nothing beats the genuine article. Which is why your date will thank you for foregoing a sub-par dinner for some Spam.

And if their electronic descargas don't get you in the mood for love, Transit's bar staff will be slinging $5 "Wet Kiss'" shots for ladies and $5 "Honey-Dew-Me" shots for the gentlemen all night, not to mention $6 Jameson drink specials.

Saturday, February 14. Transit Lounge, 729 SW 1st Ave, Miami. Show starts at 11 p.m.; admission is free. Ages 21+ with ID. 305-377-4628; www.transitlounge.us
